MotKey USB Flash Drive Revealed by Active Media Products

There can never be too many USB flash-drive offerings, as users continually look for devices that combine functionality with aesthetics and performance. Manufacturers of storage units have been developing and releasing products that combine a powerful and reliable interior with a stylish exterior for quite a while. Among the latest releases in the long range of such products is the MotKey, a USB flash drive that Active Media Products shaped in the form of a car key.

Active Media Products already offers a wide range of unique devices for a variety of markets and also assists OEM customers in developing special solutions aimed at meeting their special needs. In addition, the company can provide a variety of packaging solutions. The MotKey USB drive is one example of a drive tailored for a specific set of consumers, as it is obvious from the car-key shape.

The USB 2.0 flash drive is shock- and scratch-resistant and, according to the company’s VP of Sales, Jerry Thomson, “will look cool on any keychain.” Measuring only 2.9 x 1.2 x 0.5 inches (73 x 30 x 13 mm), the drive comes in storage capacities of 4GB and 8GB. Both models are backwards compatible with the USB 1.1 interface and will work on both personal computers and Macs. The flash devices are capable of hot plug and play, have no need of drivers for most operating systems and possess a data-retention time of ten years.

Both the R4G-KEY1 (4GB MotKey Key USB Drive) and the R8G-KEY1 (8GB MotKey Key USB Drive) support Windows XP , Windows Vista, Windows 7, Linux and Mac OS X. Also, in a rather uncommon turn of events, the flash drives also support Windows 98.

The 4GB and the 8GB MotKey models are available through Amazon and carry price tags of $14.95 and $24.95, respectively. The bundle will include a keyring and cord.
