Posted on 09 November 2008

Although the USB monitors aren’t something new, yet they have not been able to take off in a big way.

The Nanovision’s MIMO series LCD monitors do give a push, but sadly they’re just 7-inchers so you can’t replace standard LCDs with them!

The Nanovision MIMO LCD monitors are merely 7” mini monitors that are USB connected and powered offering affordable way to add productivity to notebook and desktop computers.

These are ideal for dedicating visual workspace to applications, like instant messaging and calendars. and also a great option for Gadgets and Widget applications like news and weather monitoring as well as for multimedia playback right from digital TV, video conferencing, down to MP3s, photos and much more.

These monitors utilize the USB for both connectivity and power.

The 700 series starts with the UM-710 7”, which bears a price tag of about $129, and supports 800×480 resolution in both landscape as well as portrait orientation and either mirror or extend display modes.

The MIMO model UM-730 comes with a complete videophone having 1.3 mega-pixel Webcam, MIC and earphone jack, and the UM-750 unveils a Touch Screen.
