Michael Phelps and his Geek Secrets

People magazine in the US has published a few geeky secrets about the latest American hero, Michael Phelps. Here are some of them:

- He recently taught his mom Debbie how to send text messages so she can message him from the stands during Olympics. His mom admits that she is very slow and makes tons of spelling mistakes. (I don’t think she’s using T-9 predictive text – Maybe Phelps doesn’t know either)
- His iPod contains techno and country music along with loads of rap. Some of his favorite artists include Jay-z, Eminem, OutKast, and Lil’ Wayne
- Before every race, he played Lil’ Wayne’s I’m Me on his iPod before races during the Olympics
- He plays Texas Hold’em poker with his team mates between meets along with other card games
