Radius 320 Seamless LCD Display

Posted on 31 August 2006

Ever wondered if the hi-tech looking display screens on some of the movies could be actually implemented. Well, looks like active edge has come up with a product that is an innovation by it’s own standards.

The Radius 320™ incorporates three 20.1″ LCD panels into a continuous display system with a total resolution of 5.76 million pixels. With the individual panels wrapping around the user, the Radius 320™ provides an ergonomically-friendly viewing experience across a 50-inch diagonal.

Independent of operating system, the Radius320™ can be used on Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. You will need to have enough video cards to support 3 DVI outputs at 1600 by 1200 resolution. No special drivers are needed beyond those provided by your video card manufacturer. You can download the datasheet here.

Seamless LCD Display

Appending three LCD monitors is not a big deal but taking out the borders and making three LCDs look like one giant screen takes a lot of talent. The inventors from Oxford have optically erased those distracting borders between displays by using a specially-designed lens wedged between each panel.

Check this out… 3 LCD displays connect together to act as one big screen. The best part is that there are no borders……
