Why I Switched to Firefox
I was diehard IE for years. Nothing else would do. AOL and Netscape disgusted me. My thinking was “Microsoft is the best. There can’t be a better browser.” This lasted until late into 2005. During one day of regular Internet use, a notification came up and said that my computer had been infected with a virus. Thankfully I had Norton and was protected from any serious damage. I had used Firefox before this incident. It didn’t appeal to me at all. When I tried to watch Flash cartoons using FF, it wouldn’t work. When I tried to play Java games, they wouldn’t work. Back to IE. When the GDI+ incident happened, I switched. By this time, Flash and Java worked. During all of this, I had no idea what RSS was. Firefox made my life simpler with RSS. I went to town and subscribed to everything tech related. CNet. NYT – Tech. Digg. Reddit. At the time IE7 had not been released yet. More of a reason to stay with Firefox. I must admit, I did install IE7 just to see what it was like. I wasn’t really impressed. It’s minimalist design reminded me of Firefox. But it’s not Firefox. Shortly after this, all the news stories came out details the bugs in IE7. That brings me to today as I type this entry in my Firefox browser. If you haven’t switched yet, I strongly suggest that you do.

Tabbed browsing, RSS feeds, no pop-ups, limit which sites can run script + The Stumble extension as changed the way I surf the web :o)
Yeah…I don’t see myself ever switching to another browser.
i use firefox because IE sucks, plain and simple. it can download something without your confirmation, so i use firefox and opera, depending on what i want to do. opera for multi tasking websites because its tab system is so much more simplistic and faster that firefox, but for simple single-site browsing or gaming, i use firefox
yup,Firefox rules in my book too..Started about 18months ago and never looked back, though it can get a little memory-intensive sometimes and I don`t know why, it seems to clear itself ok with a little love and affection!
The Stumble toolbar just makes it the absolute business though, completely changed my browsing habits…
