Windows Servers better than Linux Servers

There has been a lot of comparison between OS X and Windows off late but when it comes to servers, OS X is out of question and in comes Linux. Linux is regarded as one of the most commonly used OS on servers due to its stability, reliability and its price.

Although I am a hardcore Windows fan, I have a Linux server just due to the reasons that I mentioned above. Plus, most of the web applications that are written these days are compatible on Linux servers mainly.

Yahoo News reports that Windows servers are more reliable than Linux. They are covering a survey conducted by Yankee Group. The report states that Only HP-UX and Sun Solaris 10 beat Windows on uptime. Windows beat Red Hat Linux by 20% more annual uptime.

This news just changes all my plans as I am getting ready to move to a different server. I should start thinking about pros and cons of a Windows Server 2003. Any valuable suggestion would be welcome…

Shit, i’m oposed to open source. Imagine the profits that can be made if you took you open source product and sold it for a decent amount of money. Does that make me bad? No. I just don’t like living in an apartment driving a shitty car.
